What is it? When distilling our lavender plants we are essentially steaming the plant. The steam condenses back into a liquid which is broken down into two items - an oil which most of us are familiar with which is our Lavender Essential Oil and a water, which is Lavender Hydrosol.
What are the benefits of Lavender Hydrosol? Lavender Hydrosol has been used for CENTURIES as it contains natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that offer benefits for skin, aromatherapy, cleaning and hair care.
What does it smell like? It has a similar but different smell than the Lavender Essential Oil. More earthy. We agree that once you start using it, it becomes something you crave for relaxation. I was using lavender essential oil every night when I was pregnant and the smell of it takes me back every time. Each variety of lavender produces a slightly different scent. I can tell a difference between our Grosso and Phenomenal, but most of our products come from our larger Grosso garden.
How we love to use it: We all mist it on our bed sheets before getting into bed (even Oliver and Eben). Dena claims she doesn’t remember going to bed when she uses it :) I LOVE dropping a few tablespoons of it in my bath water. The smell and the heat just really get me ready for sleep. I also love putting it in the wash machine with our extra smelly clothes and sheets. I’ve used it as a face tonic, sunburn soother, bug spray, and natural cleaning that can be used on anything in the house. Dog shampoo because some of you know my dogs need to find some relaxation. I haven’t tried it in my own hair, but people claim it is wonderful to reduce itchy, dry scalp, too!
We do not use ANY chemicals on our lavender plants or use any preservatives so our products are 100% pure!
